First Family Flight

Finally, Ryan took us flying! He took me, along with Brandon and Christy, about three years ago, shortly after he got his private pilots license. He has been talking about taking Kiera for a long time and we got to go on November 3rd.

(Before take off)

The girls were super happy and Kiera was so excited!

And then we taxied to the run way...
That is when both girls decided they didn't like it. Kiera had a look of death and Averi was screaming! Ryan asked me if we should still go, I of course was really looking forward to it so we gave it a try. After a few minutes, both girls were sound asleep.

Happy Halloween

Kiera did not like carving pumpkins one bit. So she drew on hers and Averi's pumpkin instead.

Kiera was a beautiful "Tinker Bell" for Halloween.
And though the idea of getting her hands gooey in the pumpkins made her very unhappy she did like trick-or-treating. Especially because she had so many people to choose from to go up to the door with her. My parents and brother flew in for Averi's blessing and got to celebrate Halloween with us. At each house Kiera would choose who she wanted to go to the door with her. She could have gone all night.

Good Morning Winter

Now it's not "The Greatest Snow on Earth", but you can imagine the 30 minute long smile on Kiera's face as she watched the snow fall this morning. We woke up as usual and daddy was long gone to work. I opened the blinds in the living room and much to my surprise the ground was white! Yes, I too had a huge grin on my face.

3 Months and 3 Years

It has never been easier to put either Kiera or Averi to bed. One night we laid them in Kiera's bed and within minutes they were both asleep. Piece of cake! I just wish every night were that easy.

Time to start bundling up!

September- A month of First's!

My how time flies when I am busy with two girls. Blogging has become very low on my priority list. By some magical power both girls are asleep so I am going to give a weak attempt at catching up. September was super fun. At the very first of the month Ryan's older brother and his family stopped by and stayed with us a few days. It was their first time coming to our house but more importantly, their first time meeting Averi! Then on Friday, September 4Th, the seven of us packed up and left for Averi's first visit to Utah where she met most of her relatives for the first time. During the two and a half weeks we spent there Kiera got her first pair of boots (other than snow boots), and rode her first horse. She truly is a girl who follows after my own heart! She was not one bit scared of the horse and she could have rode her all night!Averi attended her first parade and demolition derby. She also spent her first day and night without daddy while he went to the Reno Air Races with his dad.

I also picked out the girls first matching shirts that Ryan's mom bought.

Preschool and 8 weeks!

Our big girl started preschool yesterday! I can't even explain how excited she was to go. She carried her backpack around all day Sunday and that night as she was getting into bed, she told me that she wanted me to stay with her at preschool. I knew it was just because she was tiered because when I woke her up Monday morning, she told me from then until we got to our friends house that I could just leave her there by herself! And as we were walking out the door she said to Ryan, "I'll be back soon dad!", as if he didn't need to worry that she would be gone too long. Oh, she was so cute.
My friends and I decided that we would do a home preschool program for our three year old's, which happen to be all girls! We rotate weeks so they go to a different house each week, two days a week, and have lots of fun learning. In the meantime, the other moms get a nice three hour break. I am so excited for this, I think it will be so much fun!
As for our sweet little Averi, she is eight weeks old tonight. My how time is going so fast. We have loved every minute of having her in our family. She is smiling now and making little noises when we talk to her like she is talking back to us. Heavenly Father has blessed us beyond measure with our two healthy, beautiful daughters.

P.S. If some of this doesn't make much sense, it's because it is 10:30 at night and everyone is asleep, which is where I should be. But it was the only time I could find to update the blog. I used to post about everything we did, and now it's just when I have a minute. My how life is busy with two kids!

Averi "Already 1 Month Old"

We are totally in love with this amazing little girl. She has brought so much happiness and joy to our little family. I haven't posted much, but for those of you with more than one child, you know why. Having two children has kept Ryan and I very, very busy!
So a little about Averi--
Lets start from the beginning, I think she will be a very strong willed person. When she decided it was time to come out, she just came out! For those who haven't heard, yes she was born 60 seconds after me being wheeled into the delivery room! We were preparing for another quick labor and delivery since Kiera was only four and a half hours from beginning to end. But we were not prepared for how fast Averi would decide to enter this world. Ryan was ever so close to delivering her himself in the truck. Which he was begging not to have to do as I told him I could not get in the truck to go to the hospital and then again at the ER entrance as she was coming out!
When she was born, we had a list of names, none of which we were even close to being settled on. Over the next 24 hours we narrowed it down to two names, Ryans pick (Lauren) and my pick (Averi). Ryan suggested we flip a coin however we didn't have one with us. So I wrote each name on a piece of paper, put one in each hand, and let Kiera pick a hand. To my delight she picked Averi! Her middle name comes from my grandmother, Vera Jane. So there we have Averi Jane Andreasen!
She was born at 9:03pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Averi weighed in at 7 lbs. 3.3 oz. and was 21 1/4 inches long.
