Tag, I'm It!

Six facts or habits about me!
1-- I am a softy when it comes to animals and children. If I could, I would take in all the orphans (animals and children)!
2-- I have a fear of falling.
3-- Anything Lemon or Lime, I eat it!
4-- Of all chores, I dislike laundry the most. It is NEVER done!
5-- Styrofoam squeaking is the WORST possible sound in the world. I cringe just typing about it.
6-- I can never seem to give Ryan and Kiera enough hugs. It's like being thirsty all the time and even though you drink water, you are still thirsty! (Note: It annoys Ryan)

Now I tag Christy!

Home Sweet Home

On Saturday the 19th I finally pulled off a surprise party for my mom. She is one of those people who finds out everything, except for this time! I flew in to Utah on Thursday the 17th and Ryan's parents picked Kiera and I up at the airport. I had a surprise birthday party planned for my mom on Saturday and 26 people showed up. It was awesome to see my parents walk in, look at me, look away, then turn back and realize that Kiera and I were standing right in front of them. That's right, no one, except Ryan's parents, knew I was coming.
It was great to see the family and spend time with them. We took a million pictures, so I'll just post a few.
I just want to add how amazing mother nature is. When I left on Thursday a week and a half ago, Oklahoma was as brown as could be. While in Utah someone must have dumped green paint over the state because when I got back Saturday night, everything had life to it. I kept asking Ryan on the way home from the airport if we were on the right road because it looked so different. When we moved here in November everything was already dead and brown for the winter, and now, Oklahoma has a whole new beauty.

Two things I miss most about Utah...
mountains and snow!

Kiera LOVES dogs and she still asks about Droopy several times a day!

My two most favorite people and a crash!

Nothing makes me more happy than my husband a daughter!

On Friday Ryan and Kiera got hit while on their way to meet some friends at McDonald's. They are both fine and the truck will need a little work. But it is when things happen that I stop to thing just how thankful I am to my Heavenly Father for protecting my family each and every day. We truly are so blessed, FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!

Tulsa Zoo

On Saturday we traveled to Tulsa to visit the zoo. It was fun to be out as a family, but I was not impressed with the zoo. I won't go on and on about what I thought of it, but I did have fun taking pictures, mostly of Kiera! We got her this monkey backpack because she loves to walk rather than ride in her stroller. So I somehow need to keep a hold of her. Well, after she screamed and said "NO" a bazillion times, we finally got it on her. But the only way to stop the screaming was to let her hold the monkey's tail. So she walked through the whole zoo holding the tail. Needless to say, it did not serve it's purpose! Maybe next time.

Ahh, yes, and I got my hair cut!

Tornado's, AHHHHH!

All my life I have been afraid of tornado's. They just looked so scary on the TV. Last night we had our third encounter with a tornado warning. The first was on our way home from ASBC back in 2006. We were in Kentucky and Ryan and I both thought we were going to die. That was the worst weather I have ever seen in my life. The second time was in Florida and of course Ryan was stuck on base in lock down because of the tornado that struck about 30 miles from our house. Then last night we were awakened by the sirens going off around 2am and the wonderful automated voice telling us to seek shelter immediately. So I woke Ryan up, because of course he didn't hear a thing, and then I ran in and grabbed Kiera. Not having cable, we didn't know exactly how bad it was. So we sat in the bathroom for a few minutes then my gutsy husband wondered outside to take a look. He came back in and didn't go out again! Finally the siren stopped and we put Kiera back in bed. I got on the Internet to check things out and the national weather service reported tornado activity nearby. Then we were under a flood warning. It was raining like crazy. Fortunately, we got used to that kind of rain in Florida. I am so thankful to be safe and now the sun is shinning and Ryan is out flying. Crazy weather!

Flying High

Kiera loves it when we go outside and Ryan throws her as high as he can. Makes me a little nervous sometimes, but her laughing helps me to let them be.
This last week was a little busy. Wednesday we had playgroup here at our house. The lunch took longer to cook than I anticipated and we were all starved by the time it was done. Then Wednesday night there was a Relief Society Birthday party. Thursday I was in charge of a lunch sale fundraiser for Ryan's graduating class, that was crazy. I'm glad I don't have to be in charge of another one before they graduate. Our friends Lance and Danielle moved to Enid on Thursday, it was great to see them! I can hardly wait for their baby boy to come!! Lets see, Friday I was finally able to re-create the famous snickerdoodles made by the amazing chef "Scott". Oh, how is miss Scott and Megan.
They moved on to their next assignment all the way down to Texas. What a sad weekend it has been without them. However yesterday Ryan and I did find a new Mexican restaurant that we like. Not as good as La Hacienda in Florida, but it was yummy! Then we rented August Rush, what a wonderful movie. Everyone has got to see it.
Can you believe how grown up Kiera looks in this picture? I took this last Monday when the weather was beautiful!

Happy Easter!!!

This Easter was a fun one with Kiera. Unlike last year, she could actually run around and look for Easter eggs. Yesterday we took her to the Easter egg hunt here on base. It was fun. She was mostly interested in the Easter bunny, which we didn't get a picture of because our camera ran out of batteries. After church today we hid the Easter eggs that grandma and grandpa Andreasen sent, in the back yard and she found every one of them.

Also last night we went bowling with all our friends, kind of as a good bye to our neighbors
Scott and Megan. It was so much fun. I am so sad to see them move. I dread the days that Kiera says she want to "go see Megan", which she does about 10 times a day! Hopefully some day we will run into them again!

Two Bakers

Yesterday I made bread for the first time unaccompanied by someone a bit more professional. Such as my late grandmother or my neighbor who taught me this recipe last month. Although I think I called Megan three or four times to ask questions!

Alright, I'll be honest, I did have help!

The finished product (with half a loaf already eaten)!

Sunday

I thought I was the only parent with the ice cream secret. Boy was I wrong! So I was sitting here on the computer last night emailing away and I kept hearing Kiera say, "more please"! So I got to wondering what was going on in the living room. So I walk out there and there was Ryan and Kiera eating a bowl of ice cream!

After church it was warm enough to take a trip to the park, finally!
